Eden Hazard opines who should win Ballon D'Or 2019 next week

Eden Hazard drops his opinion on the Ballon D’or 2019 contest as the award ceremony is scheduled to be held on the next week.

Real Madrid star talks about who is the ideal candidate of winning this year’s Ballon d’Or as the award ceremony is set to happen next week with several stars in the contest for the award.

In a conversation with Les Parisiens, the Belgian star has opined that a player from Liverpool shall win the award and has personally backed Sadio Mane ahead of the next week ceremony.

“I would give it to a Liverpool player,” he told Le Parisien. “Mane, Salah or Van Djik deserve it. If Sadio had won AFCON with Senegal, there would have been no debate. It would be beautiful if he won it.

“Or Momo [Salah], who is one of my friends. It would be a good thing for both African and English football.” the Belgian forward further said.

Thus, Hazard has opted for his former Premier League rivals ahead of Lionel Messi, who is also tipped to win the award, especially after winning the FIFA Player of the year award and considering his performances in recent matches.

Moreover, Hazard also overlooked Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he has replaced at Real Madrid, as the former is also a favourite to land in the top 3 positions in the award ceremony.

As of now, Mane and Van Dijk have a great claim over the award considering their recent performances in the Premier League and Champions League triumph last season, but Messi’s incredible stats last season makes a strong case for him.

With the gala set to be organized soon, it remains to be seen who bags the award by the end of the night in France.
