Eden Hazard will sport the Legendary no.7 shirt for Real Madrid
Eden Hazard will sport the Legendary no.7 shirt for Real Madrid in the La Liga. The club will hope he has the same success as his predecessors.
Eden Hazard walked into the Santiago Bernabeu as their first Galactico in a few years. After years of success at London with Chelsea, it was time for Hazard to test himself in different conditions. The pre-season games suggested that the Belgian was not up for it.

Horrible performances by the team led many to believe that Hazard was not the man to take the team forward. Reports from Spain even suggested that Florentino Perez distanced himself from the signing and had no confidence in the playmaker.
However, it has now emerged that Eden Hazard will wear Real Madrid’s Legendary no.7 shirt. His profile on Real Madrid’s official website, sees him sporting the no.7.

Mariano Diaz has been made to vacate the number and will now wear the no.24 if he stays in the summer.

Faith in Hazard
Eden Hazard had worn the no.50 all pre-season long. However, the La Liga rules dictate that a player must wear a number between 1-25. Which meant that Hazard could not wear the number 50 once the league started.
It was believed that Hazard had chosen the number 23. That number has previously been worn by David Beckham at the Spanish Capital. However, it was not the Englishman but Michael Jordan who was reported to be the inspiration behind the choice.

As things stand, it is obvious that Hazard has been handed the prestigious shirt. If that isn’t a sign that the Belgian has the backing of the club then nothing is. The No.7 has previously been worn by the likes of Kopa, Amancio, Juanito, Raúl and obviously Cristiano Ronaldo. Hazard will now look to repay the faith through his performance with the Los Blancos.
Madrid have one more friendly to play against Roma before they kick off the 2019/20 La Liga campaign away to Celta Vigo on August 17th.
