England vs South Africa Dream11 Picks Based on Stats

England vs South Africa Dream11 Picks Based on Stats: Best stat-based Dream11 team for today’s South Africa vs England | Cricket World Cup Match 1.

The first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be played between England and South Africa at The Oval today. Slated to begin in a couple of hours, the World Cup opener has started to entice eyeballs from across the globe. Given the recent form of both the teams, the match is expected to go down to the wire.

Contrary to our other piece on Dream11 Fantasy Team, we have selected a team which comprises of players who have done well in their last 10 ODI innings. This article focuses more on numbers than reputation or what a certain player is expected to do.

Bowlers for ENG vs SA Dream 11 Based on Stats and Prices

In his last 10 ODI innings, England fast bowler Chris Woakes has dismissed 17 batsmen at an average of 30.94, an economy rate of 6.65 and a strike rate of 27.8. Almost certain to take the field for England today, Woakes’ price of eight credits makes him a must in your Dream11 team.

Citing Dream11’s points system, I only have three specialist bowlers in my squad. Other than Plunkett, I have selected the South African duo of fast bowler Lungi Ngidi and leg-spinner Imran Tahir.

While both Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada and the same number of wickets (17) in their last 10 matches, Ngidi’s better average, economy rate and strike rate has made me pick him over Rabada. Among the specialist spinners, Imran Tahir has picked up 13 wickets at an average of 29.46, an economy rate of 4.25 and a strike rate of 41.5.

All-rounders for ENG vs SA Dream 11 Based on Stats and Prices

Having scored 120 runs at an average of 60 and dismissed 14 batsmen at an average of 22, South Africa all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo has found a place as an all-rounder in my team. Due to price constraints, I have also named England all-rounder Liam Dawson in the squad.

Wicket-keepers for ENG vs SA Dream 11 Based on Stats and Prices

Both England wicket-keeper Jos Buttler and South Africa wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock have found a place in my team. Some might argue regarding not having England opening batsman in my side. It is because of his numbers are not as impressive as the other batsmen playing this match.

Therefore, I have saved credits for Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla, both of whom have done well of late.

Batsmen for ENG vs SA Dream 11  Based on Stats and Prices

I have named as many as four batsmen in this team. As mentioned above, South African duo of captain Faf du Plessis (552 runs at an average of 78.85 and a strike rate of 92.15) and opening batsman Hashim Amla’s (375 runs at an average of 41.66 and a strike rate of 96.15) praiseworthy numbers have forced me to keep them in my side.

After du Plessis, England opening batsman Jason Roy (516 runs at an average of 51.60 and a strike rate of 116.47) and captain Eoin Morgan (509 runs at an average of 84.83 and a strike rate of 112.11) are the second and third highest run-scorers respectively.
