Max Verstappen is the most in-form driver in F1 today, and in 2022, he had the most dominant season we’ve seen from a driver in a long time. Red Bull won 17 races in 2022 out of which 15 were won by Verstappen. At the age of just 25, he’s a two-time World Champion with 35 race wins to his name.
Other than bringing glory back to Red Bull, Verstappen also put Honda on top with his impressive wins. The Japanese manufacturers struggled a lot in the years leading up to the start of their partnership with Red Bull. As a result, they were always grateful to the Dutchman and even presented him with gifts, including a $60,000 Honda Civic.

Verstappen previously decided to sell this car as well and wanted its proceedings to go to charity. As things stand, it went up for sale once again. It has gone up for auction according to Catawiki. This Honda Civic will be a valuable asset to any F1 fan since it has Verstappen’s signature on both the dashboard and the rear of the car.
Honda may look to leave Max Verstappen and Red Bull soon
According to multiple reports, Honda may be looking to end their Red Bull journey in the near future. They were struggling massively with reliability issues during their partnership with McLaren, but collaborating with the Milton-Keynes-based outfit put them back on the pedestal.
Honda decided to leave F1 after the 2021 season, but their name started appearing on the Red Bull and AlphaTauri liveries midway into the previous campaign. It seems like they have paused their decision of leaving the sport, as they have now signed up as an engine manufacturer for the 2026 season when the engine freeze comes to an end. The Japanese company will look to move away from Red Bull and join a team where they will have a bigger identity.
The main reason they are so interested in staying back in F1 as a manufacturer is because the 2026 power units will have a ‘bigger share of electronics’. Honda initially left F1 only because they wanted to focus on electric cars more.
