Lance Stroll landed himself in hot water after shoving his trainer aside in Qatar last weekend. This took place in the Aston Martin garage after Stroll had a poor qualifying session in Lusail. Now, Mike Krack, the team principal of the British team, has come up to ask fans to respect Stroll and other high-level athletes like him, as per a report published by FormulaPassion.
The recently concluded Qatar GP was a difficult outing for Stroll, all things considered. The 24-year-old had a disastrous qualifying where he got out in Q1. Additionally, he couldn’t even score a single point in the sprint or in the main race.

However, his post-qualification fiasco was what grabbed everyone’s attention as Stroll threw away his wheel in frustration. Shockingly, he also pushed his trainer Henry Howe inside the garage.
Mike Krack defends Stroll’s action amid huge criticism
Recently, Krack has come out to defend Stroll after the latter became subject to widespread abuse and criticism. He said that high-level athletes at times overshare their emotions and that is normal in every sport.
Talking about this, the Aston Martin boss said as per FormulaPassion, “Negativity accumulates when performance is lower than expectations. And at a certain point, frustration comes out. If a player is replaced, maybe he doesn’t give the coach a high five, throws his shirt, or kicks a bottle of water, we’ve seen it several times.”

“I think we need to have a little more respect for drivers and high-level athletes.,” he added.
Nevertheless, the Canadian driver has been hugely demotivated this season. Qatar wasn’t an isolated incident, with Stroll getting completely outplayed by teammate Fernando Alonso on all fronts.
Lance Stroll is in deep trouble coming into 2024
While Aston Martin made an impressive comeback after last year’s dismal performance, Lance Stroll failed to make amends. At a time when Fernando Alonso has been pushing to his maximum claiming seven podiums, Stroll is struggling to get into the points.
The Canadian driver’s lack of performance saw the British team run with just one competitive car on most occasions. This has proven costly as they already lost their P2 and P3 positions to Mercedes and Ferrari, respectively.
Furthermore, McLaren are also on their way to demoting Aston Martin to P5 in the standings. Amid all this, multiple reports claim that Lawrence Stroll is ready to sell his team to the Geely group because of his son’s consistently poor performances.
