PSG and Brazil footballer Neymar graced the star-studded 2023 Monaco GP. The footballer along with Hollywood stars Tom Holland, Orlando Bloom, David Harbour, and Michael Douglas was amongst Red Bull’s VIPs for the weekend.
However, the footballer’s visit to Monaco has landed him in hot waters. The Brazilian’s F1 escapade instead of celebrating PSG’s 2023 title win has not sat well with club manager Christophe Galtier.
The 31-year-old footballer is rumored to leave the French club at the end of the season. However, last Sunday’s incidents might have hastened the Brazilian’s departure from Paris.
Neymar’s Monaco GP visit lands him in trouble with PSG
While Neymar was in Monaco, PSG played their penultimate fixture of the season against lowly-placed Starsbough. The game was a 1-1 draw, with Lionel Messi scoring Parisians’ only goal. However, the result was enough for PSG to be crowned the Ligue 1 champions for the 11th time.
The Brazilian was injured and was out of the squad for the match. However, instead of joining the rest of the team for their title celebration, the 31-year-old was seen in Monaco. According to BILD, the PSG forward was spotted partying till late in the night in Red Bull’s floating motorhome. He was seen playing poker and partying with his mates at the Red Bull DJ booth until 2 AM.

When footage of the footballer’s adventure surfaced, the team manager Christophe Galtier was quite frustrated. The player is known for his extravagant parties and missing matches often due to his injuries.
Reports suggest the Frenchman objected to his player’s absence during the team’s title win. This could even play a part in Galtier’s plans to get rid of the Brazilian in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old joined PSG in 2017 on a $237 Million transfer from Barcelona. The Brazilian is contracted until 2025 with the French team. However, rumors suggest he is keen on leaving the club with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City emerging as targets.
Lewis Hamilton ignores old friend Neymar during Monaco GP
Neymar was hosted by Red Bull for the 2023 Monaco GP. However, the Brazilian footballer openly declared his support for his friend and compatriot Lewis Hamilton.
However, the 7x world champion gave a rather rude welcome to the PSG forward in the F1 paddock. While Neymar was being interviewed, the Mercedes driver zipped past him riding his electric scooter.

The 31-year-old tried to gain the attention of the F1 driver but to no avail. He laughed it off, but Hamilton snubbing one of football’s biggest stars became quite popular in a couple of hours. The Briton apologized to the footballer via his Instagram story.
