The incredible campaign put up by Charles Leclerc to help the flood victims of Emilia Romagna has raised a whopping $382,531. Leclerc had put up his exclusive home race kit for auction to raise money right after the Monaco Grand Prix.
Last month, Ferrari’s home race at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was canceled after heavy rainfall led to floods submerging the northern Italian region. As a result of the deadly flooding, 15 people lost their lives while thousands lost their homes.
Following the horrible events, the entire F1 grid extended its support to the Emilia Romagna region with F1 pledging $1,000,000. Scuderia Ferrari too raised over $1,000,000 for the cause.
Charles Leclerc is thankful to fans for helping him raise the “incredible” amount of money
Charles Leclerc had worn an exclusive race suit for his home race in Monaco as the drivers returned to the grid after the Imola GP cancelation. The exclusive race suit featured the colors of Monaco and while it did not bring Leclerc much happiness at the track, its auction sure will bring relief to many in Italy.
The Ferrari star, who is adored by the Tifosi, had put up his exclusive kit for an auction that was organized by Sotheby’s. His gesture had garnered him immense adulation from his fans.

With the auction concluding, Leclerc revealed through his Instagram story the amount he had raised and was left feeling grateful for the contribution made by his followers.
The item that garnered the highest bid was his race-worn helmet. The beautiful helmet with Monacan colors, inspired by the design of Leclerc’s father’s helmet, was sold at a massive $272,482.
Furthermore, his racing suit was sold at $54,496 and his boots garnered $18,165 while his gloves got auctioned for $37,399.
What did other drivers do to support Emilia Romagna?
Leclerc is not the only driver to have made efforts towards the cause. Other drivers such as Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, and Felipe Drugovich raised funds through live-streaming a virtual race.
Meanwhile, drivers such as Yuki Tsunoda lend a helping hand to the locals in Faenza. The AlphaTauri driver helped the locals in cleaning up after disaster struck. Tsunoda was also spotted shoveling mud from his hotel and helping the hotel staff.
Moreover, his teammate Nyck De Vries found himself stuck on his way to the AlphaTauri factory in Faenza. The Dutch driver was blocked after a landslide had hit the area and therefore he had to take a shelter in nearby village provided by a kind McLaren mechanic.
