Charles Leclerc Gave a Hilarious Reason For Why He Didn't Inform Ferrari About His Skydiving Plans

Star F1 driver Charles Leclerc has opened up on a hilarious incident when he did not ask Ferrari for permission to take part in an activity because of the fear that things could go wrong. The Monegasque driver explained why he did not ask his team for permission to go skydiving as he was afraid of having to hear complaints if things went wrong.

Since Leclerc has a contract with Ferrari, he has an obligation to inform his team if he is planning to take part in such an activity. However, since he did not inform his team, the 25-year-old stated that they were a little bit upset with him.

Charles Leclerc opens up on his skydiving experience

When asked by an interviewer if drivers need to ask permission to take part in activities such as skydiving, Leclerc replied, “Yes, normally you should do. I do. But I did not for skydiving. Because I just told myself that in case it were to go wrong, I will not be here to be told up”.

The Monegasque then went on to add that while his experience at skydiving was ‘amazing,’ he will not take part in such an activity for a second time without informing Ferrari. Leclerc’s interaction with the interviewer led the crowd to burst into laughter.

Leclerc enjoys time off after disastrous start to F1 2023 season

Since F1 is currently on a four-week break until the last weekend of April, Leclerc is taking this time off to relax and enjoy himself. He recently visited the Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament, where he attended both the men’s singles and the men’s doubles final.

The break comes at a much-needed time for Leclerc, who has had a horrible start to the 2023 F1 season. The Monegasque has already suffered two DNFs in the season and has just scored six points after the first three races thanks to his seventh-place finish in Saudi Arabia.

With six points, he is tenth in the championship and is already 14 points behind his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz. The Monegasque driver will now hope that he can come back stronger after this break and score some good points for Ferrari at the next race in Baku. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place from April 28 to 30.
