In 2022, Charles Leclerc had a promising start to the season, winning two out of the first three races and gaining a massive lead over the then-second-best Max Verstappen.
It seemed like Ferrari finally found its flow to get a championship in over a decade, with Mercedes’ declining performances. However, that didn’t sustain long. Over the next few weeks, Red Bull gained massive development and became a force to reckon with.
Meanwhile, Ferrari was responsible for its predicaments as it had engine reliability and poor race strategies to blame for its downfall against Red Bull. But 2023 is about to come with bigger hopes.

Ferrari gets a monster for Charles Leclerc
The 2022 Ferrari F1-75 had some incredible pace, especially during the qualifying. But it lacked an edge against Red Bull on the race days, costing them the title with a heavy difference.
But according to Formu1a.uno, Ferrari recently ran several tests on their 2023 car, currently named Project 675. The initial reports in the simulator tests have been pretty positive.
It’s revealed that the new car is timing one second better than its predecessor F1-75. This news is very promising for the Maranello camp as the recent aerodynamics regulation changes designed to eliminate porpoising effect can cause a loss of half of a second to every team.
If the estimations are pretty accurate, then Ferrari has done an impressive job of minimising the regulation change effect and adding more power to their engine. Definitely, they should step into the next season expecting solid outputs.
🚨| Ferrari has found 30 horsepower in its engine through reliability fixes, after having to turn down the 2022 power unit due to poor reliability.
Mercedes have found 16 HP and Red Bull 10 HP.

When is Ferrari releasing their 2023 car?
Most of the teams have announced the release of their car for February. Ferrari declared that the first look of their car would be released on February 14, almost 10 days before they first tried it out in Bahrain for winter testing.
Before that, they scheduled a three-day-long private test in Fiorina. It will be joined by Leclerc, his teammate Carlos Sainz, and reserve drivers Robert Shwartzman and Antonio Giovinazzi.
According to the reports, Ferrari would run their 2021 car SF21 on the track. It would be Fred Vasseur’s first outing with the Ferrari contingent as he took charge this month.
