Red bull boss Christian Horner finally succeeded in ending Mercedes’ dominance in F1 by claiming their first constructors’ title since 2013 in 2022.
The Milton-Keynes-based team has shown solid dominance this season with Max Verstappen claiming his 2nd consecutive title this year and Sergio Perez finishing P3.
Horner believes that it was quite easy going with the current driver line-up than it was during the last time the team was dominant. Red Bull won 4 consecutive titles between 2010 and 2013 with Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel.
Speaking to the media, Horner joked that the current line-up is “less stressful to manage” than Vettel-Webber. The Briton further praised the team’s effort in making the dream of getting back to the top step possible.

Verstappen – Perez Vs Vettel – Webber
Sebastian Vettel arrived at the Red Bull F1 team in the 2009 season and partnered with Mark Webber. While Vettel had just arrived from Red Bull’s driver’s programme he was quick and was soon hyped as the future world champion for the team.
Circumstances between the duo led to a fierce rivalry which saw multiple controversies such as the high-profile crash during the Turkish GP and Multi-21. Vettel claimed 4 back-to-back titles beating Webber separating the two sides of the garage.
Verstappen who is also a product of Red Bull’s driver’s programme was also hyped as a future champion and he did achieve that.
The Dutchman has teamed up with multiple drivers with some of them getting demoted due to not being able to match Verstappen’s level of performance.
Finally, the team found a perfect match in Sergio Perez. The Mexican driver has played a vital role in winning the constructors’ championship and has also helped Verstappen in winning his titles.
In comparison to Vettel-Webber’s rivalry, the current duo has had far less number of crashes and surely has been a lot easygoing for the team.
Christian Horner calls it a team effort
While Horner lauded the harmony between his current duo, he also praised the entire team’s effort in gaining the victory.
Speaking about the drivers during the FIA Prize Giving ceremony, Horner said that they have been great and have worked incredibly well together. The amount of accidents that the team has incurred has also been the lowest of any single team.
