“Confidence has nothing to do with being quick in Baku”– Max Verstappen
“Confidence has nothing to do with being quick in Baku”– Max Verstappen talks about how being comfortable in your machinery is crucial.
The race in Baku could be a highlight of the season; like Monaco, the track apparently favours Red Bull, and Mercedes wouldn’t want them to run away with two consecutive wins.
But Max Verstappen is ready for the upcoming challenge and talks about how the race in Baku is more about the car’s comfortability and not vibes and confidence.
“Confidence has nothing to do with being quick in Baku,” Verstappen told RacingNews365.com and other select members of the press. “It’s about if you just feel good in the car and the cars are doing what you want.
“Baku is a completely different street circuit where you run low downforce because of that long straight and the grip levels also feel quite low there. Normally we should be quite competitive but let’s see.”
Red Bull made fewer mistakes.
After so long, Red Bull is looking at its rivals from the top of the table, as Mercedes finally in Monaco stepped down from the P1 in constructors’ table with a loss in Monaco.
Verstappen feels that being at the top of the table means making the least amount of mistakes, and according to him, the Milton-Keynes based team made only a few mistakes.
“It’s important to score every Sunday, avoid mistakes, or at least make big ones,” said Verstappen. “So far we have been a team that has made less mistakes [than Mercedes] and that is why we are on top in the championship.”
With everyone talking about Red Bull dominating the Azerbaijan GP, it remains to be seen whether it will manage to stand on the expectations.
This race is crucial for both teams, as it holds power to shape the season ahead.
