Daniel Ricciardo auditions for the NFL after playing throw and catch with Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen

Red Bull Racing’s reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo finally met his Buffalo Bills friend Josh Allen during his first visit to enjoy the NFL. He had a great time with the American quarterback on the pitch.

From the quick circuits with the world’s fastest cars to watching the fastest-running players, Daniel Ricciardo’s dreams did come true. It was a moment all F1 fans were waiting for.

Daniel Ricciardo can now be called a fellow American instead of an Australian with his interests in the sport. He became a Bills fan and since then is a loyal supporter. Alongside, he also supports Texas Longhorns.

How did Josh Allen and Daniel Ricciardo become Friends?

Josh Allen and Daniel Ricciardo became ‘close friends’ after meeting one another at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2019. The spark of their friendship was the light humor from both ends.

Both of them started supporting one another right after their friendship blossomed. The Australian driver visited the Metlife Stadium in New York to support the Bills.

He stood with a big head cutout of Allen’s face with a smile that is recognizable from distance. The seventh overall pick from the 2018 draft met Ricciardo and invited him to join over for some training sessions on American Football.

Josh Allen started training Ricciardo on how to throw and catch the ball. The Honey Badger on the other side complained that his hands were too short and that he could play all the sports possible.

Much to Ricciardo’s surprise, he was able to collect and throw the ball. He explained to the people around him that sports is a crucial part of his life and how energetic he felt throughout the whole process.

The Buffalo Bills, unfortunately, lost the match against the New York Jets. A conclusion to McLaren’s career, Ricciardo is now focused on getting better in a driving perspective and making a comeback in 2024.
