Star Alpine F1 driver Esteban Ocon has expressed his sympathies after Charles Leclerc took to his social media account and urged fans to respect his ‘privacy’. The Monegasque driver revealed his unhappiness at how fans were crowding outside his home and ringing his doorbell.
Leclerc revealed how this trouble was a result of his home address somehow ‘being made public’. After the 25-year-old explained his concerns, Ocon revealed recently that he himself had faced such an incident previously as a young fan.
‘It’s complicated’: Ocon gives his take after fans crowd Charles Leclerc’s home
While speaking to GOTAGA about Charles Leclerc’s home incident on the former’s YouTube channel, Esteban Ocon said, “It is complicated. It happened to me and people are shocked to be told that it is private. I understand Charles. It is not a rant. Charles is just trying to inform everyone that’s not the right way to do it”.
After sympathizing with Leclerc, Ocon reflected on an incident that happened to him when he was young. The 26-year-old stated that he had asked a star driver for an autograph when he was 11, and that he was left disappointed after his request was denied.
While Ocon did not reveal any names, he did state that at that instance he had made a promise to himself that he would try his best to adhere to his fan’s requests. Having said this, he admitted that it wasn’t the best idea to go to someone’s house and ring their bell.

Ocon and Leclerc have a poor start to the new season
Both Esteban Ocon and Charles Leclerc have had a disappointing start to their 2023 season. After three races, Ocon finds himself 12th in the championship with just four points. He has had two DNFs so far, with his only points coming in Saudi Arabia thanks to an eighth-place finish.
Leclerc’s campaign has also gotten off in an extremely similar fashion as he too has had two DNFs. The Monegasque driver kickstarted his 2023 season with a DNF in Bahrain before he had another in his last race in Australia.
He has just scored six points so far thanks to his seventh-place finish in Saudi Arabia. Consequently, he finds himself all the way down in tenth in the championship, 14 points behind Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz.
