Fernando Alonso Success Opens Old Wounds for Mourning Sebastian Vettel Fans: “This Was to Be Yours”

Fernando Alonso weaving magic in the Aston Martin has left the F1 world with its mouth agape. Not only are we seeing the legend return to the front of the grid, but Alonso seeing the Aston Martin challenger becoming competitive. However, amid all the hype and celebration, the dust settles and the reaction sets in- that this was Sebastian Vettel’s car.

Had Vettel stayed a year longer, he would have been able to reap the fruits of his hard work. The pace, the P2 and P1 positions acquired by Alonso- have only reminded fans that it could’ve been different.

The wounds of Vettel’s retirement remain fresh, thus leaving fans extremely emotional over the state of affairs presently. While Vettel is probably off the screens, enjoying his time with his family, fan’s broken hearts come as the sacrifice.

Fernando Alonso reminds fans of what could have been

After the initial burst of catching a glimpse of Alonso from his glory days, fans were eventually hit with the harsh reality of Mr. Vettel’s absence.

Emotions were at an all-time high as fans were both sad and angry at what had been robbed of them.

Regardless of the pain, what’s done is done. Now, the spotlight is on Alonso, and there couldn’t be a better man to bring Vettel’s legacy forward successfully.

Alonso hopes Sebastian Vettel learns from him

In his tear-jerking farewell message to his rival, Alonso had hoped that Vettel takes a page out of his notebook. In a message even more relevant today, Alonso stated, “Seb is a part 0f my career.”

Having shared such a brilliant rivalry as colts and calves in the 2010s, to established champions going wheel-to-wheel in the 2022 midfield. Alonso acknowledged this, saying that the two always found each other on the track.

Ending his emotional message, Alonso made one wish. “I know that you will come back as I did. So, see you very soon.”

Now, it’s the dawn of Alonso’s return to the top. Relentless, lionhearted, and determined, Alonso’s return to that stop step is now inevitable. Its only a matter of time
