Lewis Hamilton and Roscoe are an inseparable unit. The Briton usually brings his pets to most race weekends and walks them around the F1 paddock. On a race weekend, you can easily spot Hamilton taking his dog for a track walk ahead of the main race.
The 7x champion adopted his bulldog in 2013. His pet is no less than a star, having recently been featured in an advert for the food delivery service Zapp.
The 103 Grand Prix-winning driver tags his best friend on holidays and pampers him a lot. However, not long ago, the driver doubted if he could take care of a pet dog.

Lewis Hamilton describes Roscoe as his “son”
For Lewis Hamilton, Roscoe is family. The Briton dearly loves his pet, who even has a dedicated Instagram page with 754K followers.
Hamilton claims Roscoe is no less than an icon for his team. The driver shared, “Roscoe has been a mascot!” No wonder Roscoe has direct access to the F1 paddock and Mercedes garage on all race weekends.
Initially, when the 7x champion thought about adopting a dog, some of his close ones doubted if he could properly care for his pet. The driver has a pretty hectic lifestyle and has been roaming around the world for 9 months. He reflected, “When I got Roscoe as a puppy I remember people telling me that I will never be able to look after a dog.”
In typically Hamilton fashion, the Mercedes driver turned their mind around as he continued, “I always like to prove people wrong.” The Briton claims he could do anything for his pet. As he described their relationship, “He’s my boy, my son basically”
Is Roscoe Vegan?
Lewis Hamilton adopted a plant-based around 2015. The Briton claims abstaining from dairy and meat has improved his well-being and benefitted his performances on the race track.
Some years ago, the Mercedes driver noticed Roscoe to be struggling with a lot of health issues. The Briton stated, “His breathing has always been bad. He was never able to walk very far and his joints would hurt. He also had skin allergies.”
After a lot of consultation with the experts, Hamilton decided to transition his bulldog to a vegan diet. Since then, Roscoe’s health has vastly improved.

The Briton added, “It has changed his life. He now doesn’t have any breathing issues, his throat is no longer restricted, he does not overheat as he used to and he loves to run. He also has no allergy issues.”
Last October, the racer celebrated his canine 10th birthday. Hamilton credits Roscoe for becoming a ray of happiness in his life.
