Sergio Perez is often seen as one of the quickest and soft-spoken persons on the grid. But he was in party rage when he won the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time in his career.
However, his happiness wasn’t only limited to that. With his consistent performances, the Mexican race driver secured his future with Red Bull and an impressive fee hike.
He was even caught saying to team boss Christian Horner that he signed the ‘document’ too early, which only revealed to the media that he is staying with Red Bull for the foreseeable future. With all the booze and glamour around, Perez saw no reason to stop.
However, he was seen with a bad hangover the following day. The video of him in that shape went viral pretty quickly. Though, it didn’t do well with his wife, apparently.

Sergio Perez apologizes to his wife
The video hinted that Perez probably had more fun than he was supposed to be doing. This act of his even prompted him to apologize to his wife publicly.
“I have seen the videos circulating about me, and I take responsibility for it,” he posted. “It was a bad party that I didn’t know how to control at the height of the person that I am, but it was just that, a very bad party. People close to me know my values and the type of person I am.”
He further stated that his family was more united after this incident. After this, he asks for forgiveness from his loved ones as he couldn’t represent what he is in that short clip. He declared that he and his family would never discuss this topic after these words.
Why such a big deal over a hangover?
Indeed high-profile celebrities, even sportspersons, have been caught in more questionable acts. But why Perez went so beyond to apologize for this and ask for forgiveness could only be known to him.
However, when he and Max Verstappen were in tension after the Brazilian Grand Prix, which even led to Perez criticizing his teammate publically. In the aftermath, Verstappen’s mother, Sophie Kumpen, accused Perez of cheating on his wife in Monaco.
Probably this could be the only link between the two stories. But Kumpen got massive flack from Perez’s supporters. During the Abu Dhabi GP, Verstappen even complained about the abuse his family got because he disagreed with Perez’s interest.
