'I Will Show You I Am a Man': When Daniel Ricciardo Met Kimi Raikkonen Outside the Women's Bathroom

Even though Daniel Ricciardo finds himself only with a test driver seat for the 2023 F1 season, he yet continues to be one of the most popular drivers on the grid. The Australian is known for his kindness and outstanding sense of humour.

Here is a look back at one such incident when the 33-year-old provided a hilarious anecdote to his fans involving Kimi Raikkonen. Ricciardo provided the details of the chat the two once had when they met each other outside the ladies restroom.

‘The belts are so tight…’: Daniel Ricciardo narrates his struggles

While speaking on the West Coast Eagles podcast about a time when he urgently wanted to visit the restroom right before an F1 race, Daniel Ricciardo said, “You do not want to pee inside a race car or have the urge. The belts are so tight and they are pushing on you and it is just not fun”.

He then went on to state how he once tried doing it in a bottle in the race car when he realized that this idea just does not work. The interviewers were in disbelief when they heard Ricciardo stating that he tried doing so in a race car and just burst out into laughter.

Ricciardo then stated that since he did not want to go through the same pain again, he rushed to the ladies’ restroom when he saw a long queue for the men’s. When he walked out of the restroom, Kimi Raikkonen attempted to take a jibe at him by telling him that all the women are in there.

Ricciardo explained that by having this conversation, the Finnish driver was attempting to suggest that the 33-year-old was a female. Since Ricciardo felt embarrassed as a result, he hilariously stated on the podcast, “One day I will show you (Raikkonen) I am a man”.

Ricciardo failed to secure a race seat after a disastrous 2022 season

Daniel Ricciardo parted ways with McLaren after the end of a disastrous campaign last season. The 33-year-old finished eleventh in the championship with just 37 points. What was most disappointing about his season was how far behind he finished as compared to his inexperienced McLaren teammate Lando Norris.

Ricciardo finished a whopping 85 points behind Norris, who beat the Australian for a second consecutive season in a row. The former Red Bull driver will now hope that a seat opens up for the 2024 season so that he can find himself getting right back in the action once again.
