"Intense battles, fierce rivalries, unexpected podiums and Lewis Hamilton’s incredible seventh world title" - Netflix Drive to Survive release date revealed

“Intense battles, fierce rivalries, unexpected podiums, and Lewis Hamilton’s incredible seventh world title” – Netflix Drive to Survive release date has been revealed, focusing on the incredible 2020 season.

The highly-anticipated Netflix series Dare to Survive will return for the third time this year. It will provide breathtaking coverage of the 2020 campaign, described as a “year like no other” due to the pandemic.

The 2020 season saw quite a few scheduled races postponed or canceled altogether. This allowed venues like Portimao, Mugello, and Nurburgring to make debuts/comebacks. Italy hosted three races, while Bahrain hosted a double-header – main and outer ring in Sakhir.

The season also saw Lewis Hamilton win a record-equally seventh world title. His team Mercedes stretched their season winning streak to 7, with the eighth expected this season. It remains to be seen if Lewis Hamilton will call it quits after he breaks the all-time record.

This season is the longest in the calendar with 23 races expected to take place. Two teams from last season have re-branded themselves – Racing Point is now Aston Martin, and Renault is now Alpine. The latter sees the return of Fernando Alonso, who is chasing his third world title in the sport. He won his first two with Renault, during the heydays of Ferrari.

F1 has promised that “fans will once again be taken behind the scenes, to witness first-hand how the drivers and teams battle it out for victory in a year like no other.

“From 19th March, fans will be given unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to the 2020 season which saw the sport dramatically halted in Australia due to the Covid-19 pandemic and make a thrilling restart in Austria later that year.

“Intense battles, fierce rivalries, unexpected podiums and Lewis Hamilton’s incredible seventh world title will ensure the series is one of the most action-packed yet.
