“Is That the Australian Flag”: Too Hot To Handle Celeb Bizarrely Confuses Daniel Ricciardo As British While Checking Him Out

Daniel Ricciardo is perhaps the most famous motorsport personality who hails from Australia in recent times. Even though people like Jack Brabham and Alan Jones made a name for themselves, right now, there’s nobody more popular than the Honey Badger in his native land.

Despite being so famous, there was one occasion when the Red Bull star went unrecognized. Not only this but Ricciardo was also regarded as a Brit by the model.

Chloe Veitch, the Too Hot To Handle personality, once mistaken Ricciardo’s home country Australia for England. This occurred when Veitch collaborated with Netflix to go through the Drive to Survive characters list from F1, including Max Verstappen.

As she started with the former McLaren driver’s profile [similar to that of Tinder], she misjudged the Australian flag. After seeing the country’s name written on the card, she immediately rectified her mistake.

However, the footage was more surprising because Veitch instantly skipped the eight-time Grand Prix winner. Despite having a broad smile and likable personality, the 24-year-old said, “I’m sorry Daniel, we’re skipping you.”

Drive to Survive wouldn’t have existed without Ricciardo

The Australian star has been a constant character since the show’s inception. Beginning from Episode one of season one to the very last episode of season five, the Honey Badger often had a funny cameo.

However, from the next season onwards, it is unlikely that the 33-year-old will be featured on the show anymore. This is because the Aussie lost his seat to compatriot Oscar Piastri and hence will not feature much anymore.

The former Renault star outside the F1 grid made the show’s producer Paul Martin a bit emotional. He felt that the show wouldn’t have existed without him. Sharing his feelings, he told The Post, “Without Daniel, I think there probably wouldn’t have been a Drive to Survive.”

DTS producer revealed who might fill the gap of Ricciardo

As Ricciardo has lost his McLaren seat this year. He is unlikely to be featured in Season Six. However, who might fit in his shoes with an instrumental figure gone? The Drive to Survive producer revealed.

Martin, the producer, shared that Gasly will be the perfect fit to replace the Honey Badger. The Frenchman has grown on screen just like he did in his life, from the Red Bull exit to AlphaTauri triumph and now in a major role in Alpine.

It made Martin emotional to talk about the replacement of Ricciardo in Drive to Survive, but it’s the reality. Martin also revealed that Daniel Ricciardo was the first driver Netflix approached for the show, and he was the first driver who invited the crew over to his house in Australia.
