“It looks even better than our current livery”– Lando Norris on Monaco GP livery
“It looks even better than our current livery”– Lando Norris on McLaren adopting new colours for special Monaco Grand Prix.
Lando Norris is in awe of the new livery design by McLaren for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix. The Woking-based team will be using the colours of sponsor Gulf, and Norris has even picked a matching new helmet design for it.
The Briton race driver also told his team boss Zak Brown that the new livery is actually better than the original one they have been using for a while. But Brown still prefers his team’s true colours.

“I said to Zak it looks even better than our current livery but he didn’t sound so convinced by that,” said Norris. “But I think it’s awesome, I think it’s a cool opportunity for for both of us and especially at Monaco I think it brings it all together and it’s pretty unique.”
Daniel Ricciardo to also rise to the occasion
Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo is also prepared to make the most out of this special edition McLaren, and he would also use a special design helmet next weekend.
“I am going to go retro,” he explained. “Still with McLaren history, not necessarily like a Gulf livery.” He was no less enthusiastic about the team’s new look for the race, which he won in 2018.
“Of course I love it,” he said. “It’s cool. I didn’t need another reason to get excited for Monaco, so I got to control myself.” Meanwhile, Norris is not fully aware of his this weekend helmet design.
“I actually hope it arrives in time because quite often they don’t. A Gulf livery, my design but Gulf colours and a bit retro old-school, a bit of a throwback – I think it will look pretty cool,” said Norris.
