“Jeff Bezos Curse, Perhaps?” F1 Twitter Finds Unreal Link To Troll McLaren After Q1 Misery

McLaren fails to make its mark yet again in the ongoing Miami Grand Prix. As per the latest development, the Papayas are out in the first qualification itself and fans found an unreal link to troll the British team.

The F1 Twitter linked the presence of Jeff Bezos in the McLaren garage with the team’s misfortune. Admittedly, the world’s third richest man was present with Zak Brown’s team during the practice sessions.

The trolls landed on the internet as soon as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri failed to get past Q1 in Miami. This result is a continuation of the bad phase the Woking-based team is going through right now.

Norris and Piastri were out in P16 and P19, respectively, after they failed to keep up with the time set by AlphaTauri’s Nyck de Vries. The Dutchman set up a lap time of 1:28.325, which was a bit fast for the Papayas to catch up.

The McLaren duo crashed out of the first qualifying session after they were 0.069 [Norris] and 0.159 [Piastri] seconds slower than De Vries, respectively.

How did the fans react?

The fans reacted astonishingly as soon as Q1 got concluded. For McLaren fans, the result was a disaster, while for F1 fans in general the result by the British team has been worrying off late.

However, the unlikely connection with Bezos is what raised eyebrows. Given below are some of the reactions taken from Twitter:

McLaren drivers on their early exit

Talking about the tough Saturday, Norris said as per the team report that it was indeed a tough day for them and certainly not the result they wanted. Following this, he revealed that his MCL60 lacked the lace to be competitive in Miami.

Norris’ teammate Piastri also spoke on their dismal show. The Australian stated that he is disappointed to be out in Q1 and wants to see what he can do tomorrow and move forward thereafter.

With 14 points on board, the British team is in a vulnerable position to lose their P5 position to mid-table rivals Alpine and Haas. As both the McLarens start from the back of the grid, as compared to one Haas and Alpine starting the race from P4 and P5.
