Max Verstappen is currently dating Kelly Piquet, the daughter of former F1 world champion Nelson Piquet. While their relationship is going strong, before finding Verstappen, she dated another Red Bull driver— Daniil Kvyat.
The two even have a daughter together— Penelope Kvyat. Despite that, Piquet and Kvyat decided to separate at the end of 2019. While Kvyat is reportedly dating anyone, Piquet decided to be with Verstappen.
Their rumours were trending online for a long time, but in early 2021, the duo confirmed the relationship after their images of holidaying in a desert appeared online. Since then, Piquet has been a regular attendee in Verstappen’s camp during Grand Prix races.

Kelly Piquet hinted at soon finding a new partner after Danil Kvyat split
In 2019, when Kvyat and Piquet decided to leave each other, the latter obviously seemed to take it quite hard. She posted an image on her Instagram that was captioned, “Nothing in your life can leave without a possible replacement.”
The post is no more available on her Insta profile, along with all the posts she had with Kvyat. But it surely proves that she wasn’t ready to stick long in the memories of the Russian race driver even though they had a daughter together.
That actually happened, as mentioned above, when she publicly dated her relations in January 2021. It can be assumed that the couple had taken their time before going public with the Dutchman. So probably, they had been together soon after her split with Kvyat.
In her recent interview with Vogue Netherlands, Piquet confessed that she first met Verstappen in 2016. Back then, the Red Bull driver was only 18, and the Brazilian columnist thought she saw a spark with him.
Fans couldn’t help but feel cringe
In the same interview, Piquet even stated that she finds her dad’s reflection in Verstappen, which didn’t go well with fans as they thought the comment was a little inappropriate and reflected the ‘daddy issues’.
Surely, it was an overreaction, but some other things in the interview made fans feel a bit uneasy. She talked about how things with Verstappen started and remarked that how they started has some mysteries which she will never reveal as the internet is quick to derail things.
The fans quickly thought that maybe she was quick to be in contact with Verstappen as soon as Kvyat left the picture. Others thought that she was still attracted to Verstappen while still dating Kvyat.
