Lewis Hamilton: Mercedes reveal plans for Hamilton’s future commitment with the team, as the contract renewal talks heat up.

Lewis Hamilton is nearing to a conclusion of his current contract with Mercedes and many believe that the 6-time world champion will surely sign an extension.

But it has been revealed by Toto Wolff that the contract talks will further resume once races start in July, which are set to kick-off in Austria in the first week of next month.

The 35-year-old British driver is anticipated to agree on a brand new contract, however, Wolff mentioned no talks had but taken place.
“We did not see one another over lockdown, we have been in numerous elements of the world however in common contact,” mentioned Wolff.

“We did not work on any settlement between us however there’s quite a lot of belief, we have been collectively for a very long time and by no means on this time did we’ve got to take the contract out and really learn what was written as a result of it comes so naturally.

Wolff further talked about Sebastian Vettel’s possibility to join Mercedes, provided one of the two current drivers leave the team by the start of next season.

Vettel announced his departure from Ferrari, a few weeks ago but will continue to race for the Italian outfit till the end of this season, meanwhile, Carlos Sainz has been named as his replacement.

Valtteri Bottas has been rumoured to leave Mercedes this season but it is upon Mercedes to choose a replacement since they also have George Russel on their tabs.
