Lewis Hamilton Watch: Which brand of watch does the reigning F1 champion endorse, where to buy it?
Lewis Hamilton’s watch sponsors are IWC, a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 1968. The company was founded by American Florentine Ariosto Jones and has been a subsidiary of the Swiss Richemont Group since 2000.
IWC watches are not worn by the Mercedes drivers while racing or when heading to the podium, which they do very often. Lewis Hamilton was an ideal choice for IWC due to the classy, composed personality he exudes. He has been seen wearing a number of IWC classic watches over the years. Some of them are the IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Edition ‘Lewis Hamilton’, the IWC Schaffhausen Pilot World Timer, Big Pilot and the IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. The watches can be purchased from the official website of IWC.

Lewis speaks about his love for watches and IWC
Speaking to Monochrome, Lewis was asked about ‘IWC’ printed on his Mercedes gloves. He was then naturally asked if he would prefer to wear a real IWC instead. For a Formula 1 driver, that’s a pretty straightforward answer: NO. His answer was rationale-oriented, focusing on the fact that there’s no point wearing it when you cannot even see the time!
“Every bit of weight counts. And why would you wear a watch when you can’t watch it? You can’t look at it while driving, so it’s pointless. There’s no reason to have it there, on the track. It’s not like you can look at the time or anything. Like, why would you walk down the road with a shoe on your head…? Completely pointless!”
Guys I’ve been working with @iwc to launch my own limited edition watch. A big thank you to @iwc for being open minded to do something unique & a little disruptive. I’m excited to share it with you, showing it off on the cover of @gqmiddleeast, who were amazing on this shoot. 🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/HfY0tJ3KdA

He was then asked about what would a Lewis Hamilton watch look like, and whether he would like to design it. Lewis, as enterprising as he is, answered in the affirmative, even mentioning the color: rose gold. Here are the details of what would a potential LH watch look like:
“I’d love that! I’d love to design my own watch! I never really thought about it but rose gold is my favourite. Mixed with carbon fibre maybe. I love the Big Pilot’s watch, I love heavier watches. I like to feel the weight on my arm. Most likely it would be a perpetual calendar and a tourbillon. A watch as mechanical as possible.”
