Living $200,000,000 Life, Max Verstappen Avoids This Mundane Chore Because of ‘Dangerous’ Bad Habit

Max Verstappen is currently the highest-paid driver ($55 million) in F1 which has helped him amass a whopping net worth of $200,000,000. Despite earning such a huge amount, the Dutchman prefers to live a “normal” life as revealed by Red Bull’s technical director Pierre Waché in a recent interview with The Athletic. During the same interview, the 25-year-old also revealed how he avoids a chore because of his bad habit.

His huge net worth helps Max live a luxurious lifestyle. The Dutchman rents a flat in Monaco which costs him around US$16 million in rent. He also owns four Aston Martins along with a Renault R. S. 01 and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Despite having all of these, Max’s closed one reveals that he is one of the humble guys on the grid.

When it comes to Verstappen’s net worth, most of it comes as a result of him earning a huge salary at Red Bull. The rest of his income comes consequently from the many brands he endorses. Since the two-time champion is one of the most famous drivers on the current grid, he has a list of sponsors such as Tag Heure, CarNext.com, and ViaPlay, among others. Even though Verstappen is so rich, Waché believes that the Dutchman yet has his “feet on the ground“.

Max Verstappen prefers to live an ordinary lifestyle

In a recent interview with The Athletic, Pierre Waché began by explaining how Max Verstappen is a “normal person“. Waché added that the only thing that the Dutchman enjoys is driving, and has his “feet on the ground” otherwise.

The report from The Athletic also adds that the 25-year-old took his own trash out and also went grocery shopping until recently. The only reason he stopped doing so is because of a bad habit he developed.

It’s dangerous that I go because I just load everything in it, and it’s not good for my weight. So I have to be a little bit careful,” he explained in the same interview with The Athletic. The report also adds that the Red Bull driver does not like warm drinks.

Moreover, he is also ‘strongly against‘ pineapple pizza and does not like to eat much fruit either. Rather, Verstappen prefers to eat chicken, quinoa, and veggie. However, what is perhaps most interesting is that Verstappen struggles to even post Instagram stories.

The report states that the Dutchman asks his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, for help when he wants to post something on his social media handles. Such normalcy in his lifestyle persists today even though he is much more famous with his two world championships and 45 race wins.

Verstappen has remained the same despite his success in F1

In an earlier interview with f1.com, Max Verstappen explained how he continues to enjoy the simple things in life. For example, the Dutchman stated how his best guilty pleasure is to have fizzy drinks and that he prefers to think before he makes any purchases.

He also added that while at times he feels “nice” to feel famous, he does not enjoy people taking an interest in him all the time. He rather prefers to stay “private” and have the freedom to do what he enjoys.

When asked what he liked most about being a child, Verstappen explained the freedom that he had to be himself. The 25-year-old stated that in those days he did not need to worry about people “writing stupid things” about himself, and as a result, he felt free to “do crazy things“.
