Lewis Hamilton’s fan following seems to grow from strength to strength as former Tennis star Maria Sharapova visited his garage during the practice session of the Miami GP. The Russian had a cute fan moment as she put up various images and videos on her social media profile about her experience.
Sharapova first clicked a picture right outside Hamilton’s garage before getting a firsthand experience of how the Mercedes team changed the tires of the car. She was attending the Miami GP with her fiancé, Alexander Gilkes.
Maria Sharapova and Lewis Hamilton have also met each other previously
Maria Sharapova previously met Lewis Hamilton back in 2017 after the Briton won his fourth championship. The two also met each other during the Stella McCartney Show in 2015, among other instances.

Hamilton’s Miami GP weekend begins in disappointing fashion
After the first two sessions of practice on Friday, Lewis Hamilton explained his disappointment after he saw how far ahead Red Bull were in terms of pace. When asked about his expectations for qualifying after Friday’s practice, the 38-year-old replied (as quoted by Sky Sports F1), “I don’t have expectations”.
The Briton said that his only hope for Saturday’s qualifying is to get into Q3. Hamilton made these remarks after he finished seventh in the second practice session, almost a second behind Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Considering his subdued expectations, it will now be interesting to see the pace he can bring during Saturday’s qualifying.
When it comes to the Drivers’ Championship, things do not get much better for Hamilton either. He has currently scored 48 points and is fourth in the championship. While he is 20 points clear of his Mercedes teammate George Russell, he is already a whopping 45 points behind championship leader Max Verstappen.
