Max Verstappen Extinguishes Retirement Rumors by Stating Ongoing $55 Million Commitment With Red Bull

Max Verstappen, for a while, has been talking about his possible retirement after realizing racing is not the only thing he wants to do in life. These continued statements have caused fear among Verstappen fans, who think they have numbered days to witness his excellence. But the Dutchman has now calmed down the mayhem caused by his fans.

“No, not until the end of my contract, at least,” said Verstappen to Viaplay when they asked about his fans’ worry over his retirement“I am very open and honest about this. And I think that’s better than being secretive.”

But the possibility of his retirement after his current contract is highly likely. Apart from taking other interests and spending time with family, he has also openly targeted F1 for bringing ‘too many changes’ to get more action in a Grand Prix weekend, which is allegedly pushing him away.

Is this a quality life?

Verstappen even talked about life within F1. He talks about how earning $55 million a year is something he doesn’t think is a quality life anymore. This feeling has been generated by his desire to do more things in life and be with his family.

He also admits that it’s quite rich of him to say such things. The two-time world champion even agrees that if he had been outside, he would have judged such statements badly. But only life inside F1 has brought him to this realization.

Nevertheless, as Verstappen said, he has a few more seasons before he finally retires, as his current contract runs till 2028. But even then, he will be 31. For many F1 drivers, it’s just the start of their peak.

Max Verstappen wants to ply trade in other series

The 25-year-old is an out-and-out racing fan. If not on the F1 track, he would spend his time doing sim racing and playing different motor series. And now, he wishes to do it in real life.

In the interview with Autosport, he reveals that after F1, he could try his hand at different series. For example, he is very attracted to endurance racing and hopes to do 24-hour Le Mans someday.

Though, when asked about IndyCar, he gave a big no to the American racing series. Verstappen reveals that he respects the IndyCar drivers a lot but can’t see him doing that anytime in the future.
