“Maybe we crash at race one next year!” – Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz commit to keep ‘Carlando content’ going next season
“Maybe we crash at race one next year!” – Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz will keep producing ‘Carlando content’ despite not being together at McLaren next season.
McLaren has been brilliant this season, both on and off the racing track, led by Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz. The British team finished P3 in the Constructors Standings after a significant gap. And with a healthy dose of investment and Mercedes reunion, look set to be a real threat next season.
Sainz and Norris, better known as ‘Carlando’ for their entertaining exploits, won’t be together for the 2021 campaign. Norris will be joined by Daniel Ricciardo, while Carlos Sainz has already made his dream move to Ferrari.

‘Carlando’ to live on despite Sainz’s move to Ferrari
Carlos Sainz has a few ideas up his sleeves, including bowling and dinner. And to reassure their huge fanbase, they will continue to be friends off the paddock.
“Some bowling? We can go for dinner one day if Covid rules allow next year.”
“I am sure we will be hanging out. So don’t worry, you will still get some – as they say on social media – ‘Carlando content’.”
Lando Norris, meanwhile, has developed a penchant for the sport of Golf. He is an avid video gamer but seems keen to shed that image for a more ‘gentleman’ one. And as revealed by him, he is practicing it regularly, with the hope of beating his former teammate Carlos.
Why has Charlie Woods had to embarrass everyone else that plays golf… in the world… sigh. @PGATOUR @TigerWoods

“Golf is my new full-time hobby out of Formula 1. I am practicing every night in my bedroom, my swing, and everything to be as good as him. It is another competitive thing I want to beat him at and he obviously wants to keep beating me at.”
“There are still a lot of things we enjoy away from the race track and things like that. We are still good mates outside of Formula 1, not just in the paddock. We will see it anyway. Maybe we crash at race one next year!”
