With 2 championship titles under his belt, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has proven himself as the best driver on the grid.
In the 2021 season, the Dutchman fended off 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton in an intense rivalry throughout the season.
His driving skills have often been both appreciated and criticised by the experts and there is one former F1 driver who is filled with praise for the 25-year-old.
Speaking to Servus TV, 4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel said that there are certain things that Verstappen does with the car that he does not know if he could do.
Vettel explained that for instance the Dutchman’s manoeuvres during overtaking at certain track conditions. The 35-year-old said that Verstappen has an incredible feel and control of the car.

Sebastian Vettel hopes Max’s skills continue to benefit him
Furthermore, Vettel said that thinking about how you’re going to approach a certain situation is different from actually executing them in the right manner.
Praising Max’s incredible driving skills, Vettel continued, “To try it so quickly and immediately, you can only take your off to that.”
Moreover, he said that he hopes that things continue to be the same and everything upward for the Dutchman as he soars into his career.
Vettel and Verstappen’s relationship
Unlike the present situation, the relationship between Vettel and Verstappen was not always harmonious.
The two Red Bull world champions had their heated moments when the German driver drove a competitive car in 2017 and 2018 with the Ferrari F1 team.
The car was competitive enough to fight for the championship and at times the two would cross each other’s paths like rivals.
However, over the past few years, a lot has changed in their relationship both on and off the track. As the German took retirement from the sport, he has nothing but praise left for the newly crowned 2-time world champion.
