Sebastian Vettel's First Red Bull Boss Claims He Would Fit Very Well If He Returns

Sebastian Vettel is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. The German started out his career at BMW Sauber but moved to the Red Bull family in 2007. Vettel started out at their sister team Toro Rosso, where he showed everyone how talented a driver he really was.

Vettel spent two seasons with Toro Rosso, before getting the call-up to Red Bull. It was with the Milton-Keynes-based outfit, that he created history and established himself as one of the all-time greats in F1. Between 2010 and 2013, Vettel won four back-t0-back World Championships, which at the time made him the most dominant driver on the grid.

After spending another year with Red Bull, Vettel made the move to Ferrari. Unfortunately for him, that move did not turn out to be as fruitful. He did win 14 races during his time with the Scuderia but they failed to materialize into a Championship win for him. In 2021, Vettel made the move to Aston Martin where he spent the remaining two years of his career.

Sebastian Vettel would fit very well at Red Bull, says former boss

Vettel announced his retirement from F1 midway into the 2022 campaign. At 35 years old, he admitted that his major interests in life lay away from the Formula 1 track, so he decided to step away. Vettel retired as one of the sport’s biggest legends, and fans fear that they have seen the last of him on the paddock.

Vettel may have retired as a driver, but it is very possible that he makes a return in a management role. A lot of people within the F1 community have suggested that the former Red Bull driver would make a great Team Principal, and there may be spots open for that role in the future.

Vettel’s boss at Toro Rosso was Franz Tost, who has been with the Red Bull family for a long time. In a recent interview, he insisted that the Heppenheim-born driver returning to Red Bull would be a perfect fit.

“He would certainly fit in well over there,” said Tost. “Seb is a clever lad who understands Formula 1 and knows Red Bull inside out. I don’t know in which role, we will see“

2-time World Champion replaced Vettel at Aston Martin

When Vettel retired from the sport, Aston Martin lost out on a driver who was one of the greatest of his generation. However, that void could be filled quite comfortably, because they hired Fernando Alonso as replacement.

The Spaniard is 41 years old, but is showing no signs of slowing down. Alonso signed a multi-year deal with Aston Martin, and brings in over 20 years of experience to the table. The 2-time World Champion was adamant that he wants to fight for wins and Titles again, before calling time on his career.
