Susie and Toto Wolff are a motor racing power couple. The Wolffs lead two successful teams in Formula 1 and Formula E and have shown impeccable leadership, winning multiple titles in their sport.
While Toto leads the Mercedes F1 team, Susie was heading Venturi Racing in Formula E. And despite their hectic schedules, the pair always make some room for family moments.
Toto and Susie welcomed their son, Jack in 2017. While parenting is a challenge in itself, parenting while managing million-dollar teams is in another world.

Yet the two have found some commonalities between their drivers and their toddler. And seems both can get equally ‘stubborn’ at times.

Toto and Susie Wolff compare managing their child against their drivers
Toto and Susie Wolff have a packed schedule year-round, managing two successful teams. And successful teams come with their own bag of tasks. But there can’t be anything more than raising a child!
According to Toto Wolff, there isn’t much of a difference between managing his son and the drivers; both are equally hard. He said, “Very similar, none of them listens.”
But it turns out, Jack is a little more stubborn than 7-time F1 Champion Lewis Hamilton. Toto added, “They are all stubborn. Probably our son is more stubborn than the drivers.”
Susie too agrees with her husband’s observation saying, “From my perspective, Jack is definitely the harder one. Because at 3 years old, everything is ‘Why?'”
She added, “With my drivers, I can choose when I get in touch with them. So I can judge how much conversation is happening. Whereas with Jack, it’s a constant conversation every day.”
Kids of this age are curious and might even get on their parent’s nerves at times. But Toto has devised a new plan to tackle young Jack’s questions.
The Austrian says he just repeats back the ‘Why’s’ with a ‘Why not’. And it has been working so far as he said, “And now he’s trying to figure it out. And it’s funny to watch”
How did Susie and Toto meet?
Toto and Susie met in 2006 at a racetrack. At that time Susie was racing and had driven in DTM and Formula Renault and had a reputation in UK’s racing scene.
After their paths crossed, the two were inseparable. They got closer and got married in 2011.
In 2012, Toto was announced as the Williams F1 team’s Executive Director. And along with him, Susie was signed by Williams as their development driver in 2012.

And it was Toto who gave Susie the chance to test the Williams car at the 2014 British Grand Prix. Susie became the first woman to participate in an F1 weekend since 1992.
Susie has been an inspirational figure for women who aspire to make a career in Motorsports. And Toto has expressed pride in being married to her as one of his biggest achievements.
