Leclerc has had a disastrous start to the 2023 season
Charles Leclerc has had a disastrous start to the 2023 season as barring one podium finish in Azerbaijan, he has struggled to score points at other races. In his other four races, the Monegasque has scored two seventh-place finishes and has also had two DNFs in Bahrain and Australia.
Consequently of these disappointing results, he finds himself seventh in the championship with just 34 points, six points behind Mercedes’ George Russell and a further four points behind Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz. And when it comes to championship leader Max Verstappen, Leclerc is already a whopping 85 points behind the Dutchman.
As for Felipe Massa, the Brazilian retired from F1 at the end of the 2017 season. During his illustrious 14-year-long career, the 42 clinched 11 victories and finished on the podium on 41 occasions. Moreover, he also came agonizingly close to winning the 2008 world championship, only to lose it to Lewis Hamilton by just a point.
