“The blue, white, and red of the French and British flags" - Alpine F1 launch "temporary winter livery"; A521 to be released next month

“The blue, white, and red of the French and British flags” – Alpine F1 has given a teaser with the launch of a “temporary winter livery”, with the Alpine A521 to be released next month with Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon.

Renault has kickstarted the ‘Renaulution’, part of which includes bringing all Renault Sport activities under the Alpine umbrella. This is how and why Renault F1 has been rebranded to Alpine F1 this season onwards.

Apart from that, Laurent Rossi has been brought in as the Alpine CEO, with speculation that ex-Suzuki MotoGP chief Davide Brivio could be brought in as the F1 team CEO. Also, Cyril Abiteboul has stepped down from his role of team principal of Renault/Alpine.

And today, a “temporary winter livery” was launched, acting as a teaser to the 2021 livery. It has a black base with red, white and blue colours, signalling their allegiance to France and Great Britain. The car has been modelled A500 F1 prototype from 1975, with the ‘actual’ car to be called as Alpine A521. It will be launched next month with Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, as per Alpine Design Director Antony Villain.

“The livery presented today is the first evocation of the Alpine F1 team’s new identity. Some of the structural graphic elements will remain on the racing livery while others will change. The ‘oversized’ Alpine emblem in a tricolour graphics system is the first clear-cut symbol of the brand’s identity in motorsport.”

“The blue, white, and red refer to the colours of the French and British flags, which is very important to us. Numerous variations on all the motorsport assets are still to come.”
