George Russell’s girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt, was a happy woman in Barcelona. As her Mercedes driver boyfriend claimed his first podium of the season, she seemed to be over the moon as she was spotted running like a fangirl to see Russell celebrating the podium.
The young British driver had the best race of the season so far. Starting from P12 after Saturday’s tough qualification, he managed to finish the race in P3.
After fending off challenges from Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, he came home eight seconds after his teammate Lewis Hamilton took the Chequered Flag.
As the 25-year-old had his finest day in the office with nine positions gained, his girlfriend Mundt was there to witness all the joy and happiness from underneath the podium stand.
Mundt is a Russell fangirl
As soon as the race got over, Russell took his usual position with his car behind emphatic race winner Max Verstappen and P2 Hamilton. Following this, the Briton left his car and arrived to celebrate with his team and close ones, as the usual scenario goes after every race.
However, it was a different scene for Mundt as she had to run all the way to come and meet his boyfriend and see him spraying champagne on the podium.

As seen in the Instagram story of Patricio Montero Mundt, the partner of Russell was seen running all the way from the paddock to reach the podium celebration venue.
As she arrived at the designated place, she not only saw the Mercedes star but also hugged him and later on clicked photos to wrap up a fantastic weekend.
Mundt, a regular supporter of Russell
The young investor relations associate is a regular face alongside George Russell in the paddock. Mundt, who’s a full-time employee of a British investment company, takes her time out to stay close to her boyfriend on race days.
The duo is one of the most adorable and iconic couples on the paddock and they have been together since the summer of 2020, after breaking up with his ex-partner Seychelles de Vries, the sister of AlphaTauri driver Nyck de Vries.
The couple made their relationship public after the 2020 Tuscan GP and have been together ever since. Admittedly, George Russell and Carmen Montero Mundt are also seen together in sporting events away from F1.
