"We are going to hang out by the pool for three days"- Delighted Alex Albon after winning podium in Bahrain

“We are going to hang out by the pool for three days”- Alex Albon delighted with the result in Bahrain calls for a celebration ahead of second-header.

Destiny favoured Alex Albon when Sergio Perez’s car caught fire in the final lap of the race, allowing the Thai born driver to gain a promotion in the table, which granted him a place in the podium, unchallenged as the chequered flag was waved amidst the yellow flag.

While acknowledging that Perez’s elimination brought him the bright luck, and could also safeguard his position in Red Bull ahead of the next season.

“Yeah, of course, I had some luck with Sergio. He drove a good race. But with Friday in mind, it was a good race. The guys did an incredible job of getting the car ready on time. A double podium for us feels good. I’m happy,” Albon said after the race.

“I feel like I was getting better and better in the last few races. And you can see that.  It is another step forward. We are going to hang out by the pool for three days and play a little bit of golf. But this was good,” concludes Albon.

 A lifeline for 2021

It seems like Perez despite giving an incredible performance at Bahrain, still managed to gift a possible stay to Albon at Red Bull by jeopardizing his rumoured move to the Austrian team.

The energy drink team is ready to give chances to Albon even though his position is not concrete in the team. Hence, days like these fortifies his claim to continue with his current team.

As said by Christian Horner that Red Bull will evaluate Albon till the end of the season and then decide on their future course of actions. So, these last two races are a given head-to-head battle between Perez and Albon for the other seat.
