“We do our thing, he does his”– Mick Schumacher is not happy with Nikita Mazepin’s professional behaviour cites the French GP incident.
Mick Schumacher is apparently not gelling well with his teammate Nikita Schumacher, as the two teammates were about to crash with each other in Paul Ricard, which has now left Schumacher furious.
The German race driver claims that he follows his team’s plans, but Mazepin always does as per his will. He has now vowed to talk to the team about it.
“It doesn’t have to be. I have to talk to the team about it,” Schumacher told RTL. “We do our thing, he does his. Most people can explain to themselves that it doesn’t have to be like that. At that level, I can’t quite understand it.”
In Baku, the two rookies were about to barge into each other during the final lap sprint but marginally avoided it.
Family backs Mick Schumacher.
Schumacher’s uncle and former F1 driver Ralph Schumacher came into advocate his nephew’s point by claiming that Mazepin came inside too fast, which was allegedly dangerous.
“The two of them won’t go on vacation together. I have to say, the only excuse I have is: that Nikita is absolutely overwhelmed,” Ralf Schumacher explained.
“He drives in too fast and doesn’t leave any space. Thank goodness nothing happened because Mick looks in the mirror, otherwise both would have been out. At some point the team boss has to say something, even if Dad [Dmitry Mazepine] paid the biggest bill.”
Even in this race, the Haas duo finished the lowest in the order. Thus, enhancing the frustration in the team, as they are not even able to compete against the likes of Alfa Romeo and Williams.
In 2021, the two rookies surely have no chance to have a quality F1 season.
