“Will be a bit complicated to beat you”- Carlos Sainz to Charles Leclerc
“Will be a bit complicated to beat you”- Carlos Sainz to Charles Leclerc as the Spaniard concedes that his teammate has more hold on Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz being the new addition to Ferrari, has admitted that there will be limitations on him while competing against his teammate Charles Leclerc in 2021.
This statement was made by Sainz when Leclerc asked him if he saw himself beating the Monegasque race driver. “For me, this year will be a bit complicated to beat you,” said Sainz,
“Because I don’t know the team and the car, but I will do my best. If there is a year where we have to work together, I think it will be this year.”
Leclerc last year also had the upper hand against his teammate when Sebastian Vettel partnered with him. Thus, establishing his control over the car.
Rebuilding the team
Ferrari is eyeing a rebuild in 2021 before they fully gout to challenge for the title once again. And that is why Sainz thinks that this is the year for the duo to work together.
“The most important thing is to move Ferrari forward, and if we are fighting for titles or important things, we will worry more about each other,” he said.
This view was also resonated by Leclerc on Friday when he said that he would be thinking about his team before taking on Sainz, as Ferrari’s revival is more important for them.
A wholesome partnership
Sainz is known for building a trusting bond with his teammates; at least his last two stints in Renault and McLaren exhibit this quality. Meanwhile, Leclerc also had an admirable relationship with Vettel, even if there were odd moments of tension.
Ferrari would be hoping to find a solid bond between the two, as it would only facilitate a better season for Ferrari until wrong management calls allow a strain.
