"Winning is everything"- Sergio Perez reveals Red Bull motto

“Winning is everything”- Sergio Perez reveals what it means to maximize your output at Red Bull, which is to grab a win with your resources.

After several two trial and miss by Red Bull, Sergio Perez has been scouted by Christian Horner and Helmut Marko to partner Max Verstappen for 2021.

The Mexican race driver, after a long spell with Racing Point, has found a new resort. Hence, settling at Red Bull has been a challenge for him, but at the same time, he wants to fulfil the Milton Keynes based team’s aspirations.

“Red Bull is a vast team, and you can see the passion in it for winning,” he said when appearing on the Beyond the Grid podcast. “Everyone who works here, their mindset is about winning. Winning, winning, winning. Winning is everything.

“When I was at Racing Point, it was a bit different because we didn’t have… such a car underneath us. So just the mindset is different because you are there to maximise your result.”

“But here, maximising your result means winning. And that’s something outstanding, and everyone is highly motivated. But at the end of the day, it’s still a Formula 1 team; everyone is under pressure, everyone is looking to deliver from day one.”

Red Bull car is different says Sergio Perez

For a while, it seemed like the 2nd Red Bull seat is cursed, with both Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon, despite being bright talents failed to meet their ground at the team. Perez also feels that the car designed are way different he has driven at Racing Point.

“The car set-up, the car mechanically, is totally different from the Racing Point,” he explained. “You find the time very differently, in different ways. The driving the car requires is very different from the driving of the Racing Point.

“They work so differently, and their suspensions are totally different. The mechanical balances, the difference in aerodynamics as well, so pretty different, everything.”
