Maria Sharapova-Lewis Hamilton Relationship Intensifies Moments Before Lights Go Out at Monaco GP

Tennis legend Maria Sharapova has found the time to witness the Monaco GP. There to support her friend, Lewis Hamilton, she was also given the honor of presenting the pole award on Saturday.

The duo has been friends for a while now, and as Hamilton prepares himself for the greatest challenge in F1, he finds the Tennis star cheering him on the sidelines. The queen of the tennis court was joined by her fiance as the couple witnessed the race in the Principality in all its glory.

It is not unlike the crème de la crème of the sports and entertainment industry to fly down to witness the grandeur of the Monaco GP. However, despite being one of the most legendary names in the world of Tennis, Sharapova had ulterior motives.

Before the race started, Sharapova was caught with the media personnel and was asked about her loyalties to the drivers on the gird. And a day after presenting Verstappen with the pole trophy, she made one thing clear: she was here for her friend.

Despite the problems Mercedes has been facing this season and the weekend in Monaco, Sharapova stated, ‘I’ve been a huge admirer and a friend of Lewis [Hamilton], so I’m hoping he’s able to pull through.”

She had spent the initial part of her weekend with the Mercedes team, documenting her experience in the garage of the 8-time champions. Wishing Hamilton luck, God knows the Mercedes man can do with all the luck he can get in such troubling times.

Sharapova and the F1 experience

This isn’t the tennis star’s first F1 experience this season, as she was spotted at the Miami GP a couple of weeks back. While making her appearance known on the track, she was also a part of the F1 Accelerator Summit, where she shared her words of inspiration with Susie Wolff.

As she cheers on Hamilton this weekend, she might just be set up for disappointment unless the Mercedes man pulls a miracle on the streets of Monte Carlo.

Talking about the misfortunes faced in qualifying, Toto Wolff had explained‘The team, with Lewis, decided to take a bold decision with the set-up because we thought we could play at the front. That backfired.”

However, with another person in his corner, amid the millions of fans backing him, surely, Lewis Hamilton will pull through in the end.
