Faf du Plessis’s posts Thank you note after CSK’s win against SRH

After Faf du Plessis took CSK to victory with a six against SRH, he responded to the congratulatory messages on Twitter.

The game between CSK and SRH promised to be to a nail-biting encounter. After all, the match to be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was a clash between the top teams of the points table.

However, going into the match, CSK would have been more confident as they had defeated Hyderabad twice in both their league games. All the same, both teams had an equal chance of clinching the Qualifier 1 as it was all about performing on the given day.

After SRH gave CSK  140-run total, the team collapsed with the mainstays of the Chennai batting like Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu departing early. When Dhoni was bowled by Rashid Khan, it looked as if SRH would be successful in getting over the line.

But it was the valiant effort of opener Faf du Plessis who helped CSK seal the match. He did that with the help of a six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. After a long wait, du Plessis finally posted an overwhelming tweet:

Following the scintillating victory, Faf had said, “I just got in the change room now and said, how did we win that game. It felt just a little out of reach. It was great that guys came in and hit a few boundaries at the end.

“It’s nice to make a contribution tonight. Haven’t played much. Last night when I was preparing, I reflected on the games I’ve played here in Mumbai. It’s a stadium I’ve enjoyed playing. Took confidence from that.”
