FC Barcelona Put In A Shameful Bid For Hector Bellerin

FC Barcelona’s strategy to tempt their former youth players back to the club has become quite infamous.

Firstly, the club are happy to let their youth products leave to foreign clubs. Then if the player develops very well, they assume that he should be gift wrapped and delivered back to them.

Frankly, this is preposterous!

Years ago when Barcelona let Cesc Fabregas go, they had no idea that he would develop into one of the finest midfielders in the world. Had they been able to foresee his growth, they would not have let him go in the first place.

Soon enough, Fabregas developed into a superstar and that is when Barcelona came back for him. Things would have fine they treated him like any other potential addition to their squad.

No. Everyone from the players, president and the press started a campaign which said that Arsene Wenger and Arsenal should do the right thing and let Cesc return home. Really?!

Arsene Wenger was the man who gave Fabregas his first break. Arsenal was the club that was willing to give Cesc the opportunity that his ‘home club’ was not willing to do.

In the 2006 Champions League final, Wenger started the teenage Fabregas against Barcelona. Had Fabrgeas not left Barcelona, would he have played in that final? Unlikely.

Eventually Barcelona got their man, and Arsenal had to grudgingly let their captain go.

And now Barcelona are repeating their actions with Hector Bellerin. There are many similarities between Fabregas and Bellerin.

Both are former La Masia graduates. Both left Barcelona in the hope of getting a better opportunity abroad. Both were given an opportunity by Arsene Wenger at a very early stage in their career. Both became global stars in the Premier League.

And now, both are getting their heads turned by Barcelona.

News has just come in that Barcelona are readying a bid for Bellerin for just around 25 Million Pounds.

26 Million Pounds for one of the most exciting defenders in the world?

What are you smoking at the Nou Camp guys?
