Matthijs De Ligt Transfer: Mino Raiola makes huge statement about Ajax Skipper future

Matthijs De Ligt has agreed on personal terms, but the clubs are yet to come to a conclusion over the transfer fees.

Matthijs De Ligt has agreed on personal terms with Juventus, but the clubs are yet to come to a conclusion over the transfer fees, claims agent Mino Raiola. The Dutch International has been tipped to leave the club, with the Turin side being adjudged as front-runners.

Speaking to the Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Raiola said: “Agreements have been made with Matthijs and it is up to Ajax how to deal with this”.

That above statement is not exaggerated because of the hardball of Mino Raiola. De Ligt’s agent has reached an agreement with Juventus, but he is now yet to strike a deal with Ajax.

As per the same publication, the Dutch defender is obliged to walk away from the club, if the suitor bid an amount worth 50 million which was agreed on last summer. Witnesses agent Barry Hulshoff and the player’s father Frank are also aware of this fact. But, Ajax believe that the player is undervalued – especially after a formidable 85 million deal for Frenkie De Jong with Barcelona.

The Dutch side have already told about their intentions about letting De Ligt leave for a fee of 70 million. The player has already set his heart on Juventus, but the Italian side has refused to pay up which has infuriated the Dutch Champions. Despite all the altercations in the back doors, De Ligt has been told to train with his teammates, as per instructions before.

Raiola added: “And an arbitration case is out of the question for us. I also advised Matthijs this, because it does not fit with his style and lifestyle.”

It remains to be seen whether Juventus meet Ajax’s demands. But, De Ligt is not prepared to tarnish his image at his boyhood club by forcing him out of Amsterdam.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Matthijs De Ligt will stay put at the club if the situation is not resolved. But, there is plenty of time left which might enhance his agent Mino Raiola taking a step.
