For all the talk about Barcelona’s ability to play without Lionel Messi, their state at the moment shows how vital the Argentine is to their success. Messi has now made a return but is still starting from the bench.

The idea is to help him regain full match fitness before he features in the starting XI regularly. Once that happens, Barcelona will hope to see him score in the same vein that helped him earn the FIFA player of the year award.

Despite the continued domestic success, Messi is yet to lift the Champions League since the 2014-15 season. With Messi’s days as a top star nearing its end, he will hope to bring the coveted trophy to Camp Nou once more while he is still at the top of the game.

Lionel Messi’s ambitions to add to his Champions League tally faces the risk of a certain Portuguese who is looking to match Clarence Seedorf’s efforts of winning win the Champions League with 3 different. Cristiano Ronaldo’s ambition knows no bounds. So much so, that at 34 he is just as fit as a player 10 years younger than him.

Having already become the first player to win the top flight in England, Spain and Italy, Ronaldo will aim to equal Paco Gento’s 6 European Championships. Ronaldo currently has 5, having won 4 for Real Madrid and 1 with Manchester United.

The now Juventus striker has his sights on a domestic double. He will also hope to lead his new side to a glory they have long waited for since 1996. Cristiano Ronaldo will wear Nike Mercurial Superfly VII Elite Dream Speed soccer cleats in 2019-20.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
