Here is how Manchester City could lineup against Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals.

Manchester City will face Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. Mauricio Pochettino’s side take a slender advantage to away territory for the second leg. Heung Min Son was the forward to take up the responsibility when Harry Kane was injured off in the first part of the tie and Korean International put themselves in a fantastic position to progress to the next round.

The Citizens had a fantastic opportunity to go ahead in the game, but their talisman, Sergio Aguero failed to convert a spot-kick in the first half. Hugo Lloris comfortably parried the ball away to safety and was tested another time in the injury time of the game. It was an even-steven game, and Pochettino will be happy about the result at their new home.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City will be aiming to overcome Spurs by outscoring them in the second leg to hand themselves to qualify for the next round. There is no doubt about the mad squad depth of the Citizens, but Spurs have the ability to cause upset to any side in the world when they’re in the groove.

As both the sides battle out for a place in the last four of the competition, we shall look at the team news and predicted eleven for Manchester City against Tottenham Hotspur.

Team News

Pep Guardiola gave huge news for the Citizens faithful by declaring that their important midfielder Fernandinho would be fit to feature on Wednesday night against Tottenham Hotspur, whereas Zinchenko is likely to stay out of the contention.

“I think everyone is fit. I don’t think Zinchenko will train today, the other ones came back yesterday and are recovering well. Fernandinho trained yesterday. Low intensity but he trained.” said Pep Guardiola.

Sergio Aguero made his comeback against Crystal Palace on Sunday and played 75 minutes during City’s 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park. He is expected to lead the front line against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

The Manchester City boss insisted that he is looking to lift the Champions League with the English outfit.

“I have to win. The chairman said I have to win the Champions League three times in a row. That was my desire. In football you lose more than you win. I try to do my best.” said Pep.

Predicted Lineup

Manchester City: Ederson Moraes, Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi, Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy, Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne,  Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero.
