ICC event comes once in a while and seeing both India and Pakistan lock horns in this event is good but not so good when there are no periodic turf wars between the two nations other than the major ICC event.

With things not going down too well, it’s just a feeling that the value for the sporting carnival has already started losing its sheen. To highlight and discuss the cricketing ties with Pakistan, a meeting was arranged so that the situation is restored back to normal.

The top BCCI official confirmed the fact that the future of India vs Pakistan contest relies upon the hands of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Ministry.

The Central Government is still yet to give a green signal to India to play against Pakistan. Pakistan and its board are ready and so does BCCI but not the government.

In addition to the cricketing ties, there were also talks about National Anti Doping Agency and World Anti Doping Agency. “The topic of discussion today was about NADA and WADA.

During yesterday’s meeting, it was decided that Rahul will be accompanied by Prof Shetty as he is aware of the anti-doping policy of BCCI. There were some other operational topics discussed but the main was anti-doping policy,” the official added.

“This meeting was a courtesy call and was planned long ago. Since Rathore took charge, they wanted to meet him. All issues, including cricketing ties with Pakistan, was discussed. Anyway, playing Pakistan or not, it is not only the decision of Sports Ministry but it lies mainly with PMO and the Home Ministry,” BCCI official said.

Earlier, BCCI secretary, Amitabh Chaudhary said that they would not play against Pakistan in the ICC Test Championship. However, the Sports Ministry wasn’t convinced about this statement as there are no chaos between the 2 nations in ICC events.
