Some Kashmiri youths were seen abusing and manhandling the CRPF jawans in the video which went viral in a matter of minutes. Their actions caused outrage on social media as it was deemed despicable and cowardly.
Virendar Sehwag, known for his humorous out takes on Twitter, called their actions unacceptable. He also paid tribute to the brave jawans who lay down their lives for the nation. He also called for the rot to stop as Kashmir has the troubles in that state has gone on for far too long.

His long time team mate and opener Gautam Gambhir also commented on the situation and used Twitter as a platform to express his dismay at the events that took place in Kashmir.
He passionately defended the CRPF jawans and also called their manhandling ‘anti-indian’. He also asked all those ‘anti indians’ to leave the country if they do not agree with Kashmir being a part of India.
For every slap on my army's Jawan lay down at least a 100 jihadi lives. Whoever wants Azadi LEAVE NOW! Kashmir is ours. #kashmirbelongs2us

Anti-Indians hav forgotten dat our flag also stands 4: saffron – fire of our anger, white – shroud for jihadis, green – hatred 4 terror.

Gambhir has previously spoken about issues related to the Indian army. He supported the daughter of a martyred army officer after she condemned war as a whole.
“I have the utmost respect for the Indian Army. Their service to the nation and all of us is unmatched. However the recent events have left me with a sense of disappointment,” Gambhir had said.

“We live in a free country where everyone is entitled to their opinion. If a daughter who lost her father puts up posts about the horrors of war with the intention of achieving peace, she has all the right to. It is not an opportunity for everyone to show how patriotic they are and gang up on her to mock her. She is entitled to her opinion just as every other citizen is. Everyone may or may not agree with it but mocking her for it is despicable,” he said.
It was refreshing to see Gambhir and Sehwag lash out against the Kashmiri youth as far too often our celebrities stay silent on national issues. We hope to see more of this is the future.
