A new Stories from the Outlands trailer has confirmed the addition of “Ballistic” to Apex Legends. The new Legend is the first new addition in two seasons as the developers took time to rework existing systems. August Montgomery Brinkman, aka, ‘Ballistic’ will be added to the game alongside Season 17 when it launches on May 9, 2023. Here’s a brief introduction to the character and what to expect from next season.
Apex Legends Arsenal confirmed for May 9, 2023
According to the official EA blog, Ballistic was one of the original stars of the Thunderdome Games. A precursor to the Apex Games, the Legend had a penchant for showmanship that ultimately cost him his teammate and brother-in-law, Kit Siang’s death. Wracked with guilt, the former celebrity turned into a recluse, driving away his wife Sok Leng, and son Nathaniel. Left behind by the world, Brinkman spent most of his years as a hermit, failing to cope with his shortcomings.
However, his son still revered him, as revealed by his official biography:
“His son, Nathaniel, was both enamored with his father’s victories and determined to surpass them. When his son qualified to join the dangerous Apex Games, August went to the Syndicate with an offer: take me instead. His son would be safe from the path that ruined him. What better way to use those skills than in selfless service?”
After a full season without a new Legend, fans are looking forward to a fresh set of abilities. His abilities will be detailed in a character launch trailer ahead of Season 17. Another bit of information confirms that ‘Ballistic’ fits into the reworked ‘Assault’ class in the game. Currently, fans can play the Veiled Collection Event and gain some exclusive cosmetics as they wait for the next season. The complete launch trailer for the season will debut on April 26, 2023. Meanwhile, the full season will launch on May 9, 2023.
