Initially, videos and images of Tears of the Kingdom’s gameplay swarmed the internet. Nintendo acted quickly to remove them, but things took a turn when someone leaked the upcoming Switch game’s XCI file on the internet. As a result, many Zelda enthusiasts gained access to Tears of the Kingdom ahead of its launch. Emulator players got to enjoy this upcoming Zelda title before the Switch users.
What will Nintendo do to stop this Zelda leak?
Nintendo expects the XCI leak to significantly impact the sales of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo is known for taking harsh measures against leakers, and they will do so again this time. They might shut down all websites and social media accounts that are spreading the link to Tears of the Kingdom’s XCI files.
There have already been rumors of the Japanese giant blocking various sites and Switch emulators to prevent the game’s leak from spreading further. With only two days until the game’s official release, it will be interesting to see how this situation plays out.
