Yoru is definitely a fresh addition to the list of Agents and after the Episode 4 Act 2 buffs and changes, he became more playable and interactive as a Duelist.

Yoru is prominently known for his flanking skills and confusing his enemies as they figure out where he went with the help of his teleportation.

This guide will help players through their abilities and give tips on how to play this Duelist.

 Valorant Yoru Guide: Abilities

Yoru’s abilities make him an exceptional Duelist. With his ability to teleport, he can act like a brilliant backstab when players need it the most.

Players who use Yoru are known to use more than one ability at a time to make some amazing gameplay moves. These are all the abilities that Yoru has:

Q – BLINDSIDE

EQUIP to rip an unstable dimensional fragment from reality. FIRE to throw the fragment, activating a flash that winds up once it collides with a hard surface in the world.

E – GATECRASH

EQUIP a rift tether FIRE to send the tether forward ALT FIRE to place a stationary tether ACTIVATE to teleport to the tether’s location USE to trigger a fake teleport.

C – FAKEOUT

EQUIP an echo that transforms into a mirror image of Yoru when activated FIRE to instantly activate the mirror image and send it forward ALT FIRE to place an inactive echo USE to transform an inactive echo into a mirror image and send it forward. Mirror images explode in a blinding flash when destroyed by enemies.

X – DIMENSIONAL DRIFT

EQUIP a mask that can see between dimensions. FIRE to drift into Yoru’s dimension, unable to be affected or seen by enemies from the outside

Pro Tip- Players use the Q + E combo to baffle their opponents and gain a tactical advantage against them.

Strategies for attacker side

Since Yoru takes up the role of lurking and flanking, it becomes trivial for him to do his duty like a good teammate. As a Duelist, Yoru can use his clones effectively to sneak an attack on the opponents. In an ideal situation, when Yoru is on Site, his flash should force the opponents to take some steps that could cost them only. Here is what he can do:

  • Yoru mains can use Fakeout before using Teleport to confuse the opponents.
  • Before entering the Site, use Flash to figure out cheeky angles.
  • Use your ultimate ability to figure out as much information as possible and relay it to the team.

Strategies for the Defender side

Even on the Defender’s side, Yoru plays a crucial role in gathering intel for his team and delaying the attacker’s move towards Site. As a Yoru main, players have to take chances and play to their abilities to get the best possible site position for the team. Players choosing Yoru should focus on these:

  • Start by using the Fakeout ability to gather early intel.
  • To delay the attacker’s push, use Blindside.
  • If you’re an aggressive Yoru player, then use Gatecrash in a safe spot for that peek.

Best team composition that works with Yoru

One of the most versatile compositions that work with Yoru is  Viper, Killjoy, Fade, Omen, and him. Yoru will be able to Gatecrash the Site, and from there, Omen can act as the one who creates all the mayhem. Viper and Killjoy are going to be out there making way for Omen.

Meanwhile, Yoru can flank and lurk and take down enemies who aren’t really expecting him on a different Site than the whole team. Using Q and E together is definitely going to confuse players who are not expecting him to be on their Site.

Fade is also going to help the whole team by using her Haunt to figure out where the remaining enemies are, turning this into a near-perfect team for either side. Players who play Yoru have to be more prompt in relaying information to the team. In addition to this, communication has to be one of the biggest assets of a Yoru main throughout the game.
