Gary Neville: Ex-Manchester United player makes a cheeky request ahead of Liverpool game on last game-week, as the Reds will face Wolverhampton on Sunday.
Manchester City regained the top-spot of the Premier league table last night with the help of Vincent Kompany’s stunner against Leicester. Thus, the Premier league race will continue till the final day of the Premiere league season.
On the other hand, Gary Neville has made no secret that he would prefer city rivals Manchester City lifting the Premier league trophy in place of fiercest rivals Liverpool.
Therefore, Gary Neville has cheekily asked the Sky Sports if he can cover Liverpool’s home clash against Wolves instead of Manchester City’s away game to Brighton on the final day of the season.
“It’s unique this title race. I have never seen anything like it,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“Am I at Brighton? Can I be at Liverpool (to potentially watch the Reds lose the title race) now?” said Neville.
Manchester City’s last night victory gave them one-point advantage over Liverpool with the last game remaining. If Liverpool wants to win the league, the Citizens have to either lose or draw the game against Brighton and Liverpool have to win against the Wolves on Sunday.
However, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are ruled out for the last game, giving a major blow to the Kopites. Meanwhile, they have a mid-week Champions league game against Barcelona tonight.
It seems that luck is not favouring Liverpool right now, thus allowing Neville to take a dig at their rivals. However, Liverpool have made commendable efforts to stay at the top of the table in the league this season by registering 94 points so far.
